The Hellertown-lower saucon scholarship program
Purpose: To provide scholarships to deserving area youth that have need of financial assistance, are active in supporting the community in which they live and show an eagerness to achieve through knowledge by intending to pursue post-high school course of study at either college/university or other post-secondary educational institution.

- Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- If any question does not apply to you in this application, put N/A in the space.
- Type or print legibly. Illegible applications will be returned to you.
- You will be notified by phone or email in May regarding the status of your application.

- Scholarship funds will only be awarded to the student’s college or university account upon evidence of registration in an accredited post-secondary institution.
Criteria:
- The scholarship is available to any graduating senior residing in the Saucon Valley School District. Residence includes the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township.
- An applicant must be planning to further his or her education within six months of graduating from high school. Failure to matriculate will negate the scholarship. Extenuating circumstances regarding matriculation must be explained in writing and will be considered by the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber board on an individual basis.
Application Process (Applicant must submit the following items):
- Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)
- Two (2) letters of recommendations from choice of high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience and involvement.
- An official and recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average and a class standing/rank.
- Personal Essay.
- In your essay, please answer the questions of what you have done to earn this award and what affect this award will have on your future.
