Bethlehem and Morning Star Rotary Clubs present the 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 3, 2013.

The Bethlehem and Morning Star Rotary Clubs are dedicating this year’s tournament proceeds to establish the Stephen P. Godbolt Memorial Scholarship Fund, offering grants for educational and/or vocational scholarships for under privileged young persons from the Marvine-Pembroke Public Housing Development. Steve Godbolt was a champion of children in need, particularly those associated with the Northeast Ministry and the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem. Dedicating his life through service to these two organizations and to the Bethlehem Rotary Club, where Steve spearheaded countless activities for young people, Steve’s commitment to children will be forever remembered through the establishment of this scholarship fund at the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation. Grants from the Fund will support annual scholarships to be awarded in Steve’s name in alternating years by Northeast Ministry and the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem.

Artifest 2013 sets the stage for a family-friendly celebration of culture and tradition through Art, Music, Dance and Food. During the weekend of June 8th and 9th, see living cultural heritage demonstrations from Pennsylvania German broom making to porcupine quillwork. Experience Old World culture in our New World Renaissance Village complete with merchants, minstrels, and fire breathers. See American Revolutionary War re-enactors and American Indian 18th century cooking techniques. At Artifest’s Kids Place, children can paint the Kaleidoscope Mural and create crafts from piñatas to Chinese lanterns. Exhibits will include artifacts and demonstrations of flintknapping. Cultural vendors from Ukrainian to African-American to American Indian craftsmen will offer handmade wares all day long. Hosted on the lawn of the 1740-1743 Whitefield House in beautiful downtown Nazareth, it is one of the Lehigh Valley’s largest outdoor arts and crafts festivals. Listen to some of the area's hottest groups performing their music - just for you! SITC features a variety of musical genres - there is something for everyone!!!

Grab lunch at one of the downtown's eateries and come outdoors and enjoy the sunshine and great music!!!!

Music goes from 11:45am through 1:15pm.

The Museum will be open Thursday-Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. from June 22-September 7, 2013, to celebrate our new exhibit, "Empires of the Jungle." For hundreds of years before European contact, the Incas, Mayans, and Aztecs built monstrous cities and monuments, engaged in complex religious rituals, and carved beautiful tools from local materials. “Empires of the Jungle” explores these civilizations as well as surrounding cultures of Costa Rica, the Bahamas and Antilles, the Amazon, and the Mezcala culture of southwestern Mexico. Learn about the ancient Peruvian practice of cranial binding, see how the ancient Maya carved figurines from pyroclastic stone, discover Aztec techniques for making and drilling obsidian pendants, and immerse yourself in the unique world of these peoples. Museum admission: $5 adults, $4 seniors and children 12-17, children under 12 FREE

Pre-Columbian peoples were not intermittently settled in an unspoiled wilderness; rather, there were vast numbers who actively shaped and influenced the geography around them. The Aztec enjoyed running water and impeccably clean streets. Mexican cultures grew corn in a focused breeding process that has been called man’s first feat of genetic engineering. Native peoples were not living lightly on the land. Explore how Native people manipulated their world in many ways. Appropriate for adults and teens. Admission: $5/person, members free. On Saturdays during the summer, the Museum of Indian Culture presents “Saturdays at the Museum,” a series of mini-workshops about archaeology, history, and the local ecosystem.
