Façade Program
The Façade Grant Program is a program whereby public money is invested into exterior improvements made to private properties. Grants are awarded on a 1-to-1 basis (private expenditures are matched dollar for dollar by public money, up to $5,000.00). The program covers a great deal of exterior renovations to property, including painting, windows, doors, shutters, awnings, signage, and general maintenance. A variety of renovations are eligible for this program, and the staff of the BBRP is more than happy to assist you with your project.
2007 Façade Program
The 2007 program worked with 36 projects, allocating approximately $133,000 in grant funds. This leveraged over $320,000 in estimated total project costs.
Furthermore, 46 properties received Design Assistance. We contracted an architectural firm (W2A architects) to create architectural renderings and drawings at no additional cost to our applicants. This gave individuals using our program the chance to get a better idea of the type of work they were looking to do to their properties, as well as a better idea of how much their proposed work would cost.
